So, long time, no see, bloggy world! It’s been a busy spring. Miz Bug finished up kindergarten, but not before we figured out she has dyslexia. There are days I wonder what more this child will have to put up with, but as always, she bears it all with a smile on her beautiful face. In light of the dyslexia diagnosis, we’ve also had to find her a new school since her old school is spectacularly ill-equipped to deal with the issues dyslexia raises. We did find a fantastic new school, one that G and I almost wish we could go back in time to attend. It’s really cool! The really stinky part of all this for Bug is that she needs to start tutoring this summer so she can learn to read in way that works for her brain. Poor kid– can’t she have a summer break?
We’ve also taken our long-discussed and planned trip to China. We got back last Saturday, and have settled back into old routines even in the haze of jet lag. Which leads me to my next announcement– I’m going to do a series over the next few weeks recounting our trip! I thought this would be a fantastic way to document the journey, especially for Bug, before I forget details. Maybe some of you out there will get at least a smile or two out of our trip. It really was unforgettable, and showed me yet again how wonderful our Bug truly is. No matter what — travel delays, cancelled flights, jet lag, unfamiliar food — Bug handled everything like a true travel pro. She is amazing!
