An Old Lady Hit Me With Her Car!

I’m not quite sure why I feel compelled to write about this, but here we go!

Wednesday evening I arrived at preschool/daycare to pick up Bug.  It was a normal Wednesday– since daycare is at a church the parking lot was predictably a little more busy than usual because of Wednesday night services, but nothing out of the ordinary.  Lil Bro was there to pick up his son, so we went in, corralled the kiddos, and went out to get in our cars.

Bug ran on to the car, and I was standing in a handicapped spot to talk to Lil Bro one last second before running to catch the tiny tornado.  That was apparently a mistake.  As I turned around, the White Prius of Doom driven by a gray-haired old lady hit me in the knees, throwing me onto her hood.  She wanted that spot come hell or high water, and someone standing there wasn’t going to stop her!  To top it all off, she gave me the dirtiest look I’ve gotten in a long, long time.  I guess I really put her out by standing in that spot!

If you are wondering about my reaction, here it is:  I was so shocked I just hurried over to my car, made sure Bug was fine, and then got us on our way to gymnastics class.  I called G to let him know, and he predictably and understandably blew his top and wanted to go find her and report her.  I probably should have let him, because this old lady is a menace and could hurt someone the next time, but I was so embarrassed that I just walked off I didn’t want to revisit it.

So, an old lady hit me in the daycare parking lot and I did nothing.  I feel like a total wimp.  But I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for the White Prius of Doom!

Feces would show up great on that white paint.

    Just sayin’.

Seriously, it happened so fast that I barely noticed. I didn’t see the look she gave you. That’s crazy and infuriating. Think she was a member of the church? I do.
