I hate Valentine’s Day.

I realize this isn’t a new sentiment, but I really hate Valentine’s Day.  Especially now that I have a child.  Preparing for a four-year old’s V-day party is a total pain in the butt.  Those silly little valentines I picked up at Target were a b!tch to stuff, and the envelopes had a glossy finish, meaning that the ink took forever to dry and smeared all over the place.  That was nothing compared to gift-wrapping the shoe box (bottom and top separately) so that Bug could have her custom-made mailbox.  At least it looks cute!

Was Valentine’s Day this much of a drag for our parents?  Man, I really need to call up my Mom and tell her thank you!  I’m sure I’ll be less cynical tomorrow when Bug is running around delivering her valentines at her party, but for today, Bah Humbug!
